As you may already be aware, the Haywood County School Board has decided to return to in-person learning on September 28, 2020.
We are taking the following precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and students in our building:
- Mandatory temperature checks and health screenings every morning
- Masks are required
- Assigned class schedule to minimize number of students in each classroom
- Assigned seating spaced 6 feet apart
- Hand sanitizing stations outside every classroom
- Frequent hand washing encouraged
- Frequent daily cleaning and disinfecting
Teacher advisors have been reaching out to HCLC students and their parents/guardians this week to ask whether students intend to return to in-person learning or continue remote learning.
Students who choose to return to in-person learning will be attending 9:30am-2:00pm Tuesday-Thursday and will be following a class schedule. Mondays and Fridays are BY PRIOR APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Students who continue remote learning may come to the school building for in-person help BY PRIOR APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Parents/guardians of students who intend to continue remote learning MUST confirm this decision with their student’s teacher advisor through phone call, text/Remind message, or email.
Remote learning students who do not meet the minimum coursework hours (10 hours per week; 5 hours per course) or are not otherwise successful in their coursework must meet with the HCLC director, Brookely Nicholson, to discuss the possibility of returning to in-person learning or referral to Adult High School.
Any questions or concerns may be directed to your teacher advisor directly or by calling the front office at 828-454-6590.
